Dr. Luis Miralles is a Computer Engineer and also a PhD in Computer science at the University of Murcia (Spain). He has a master in computer security by the University of la Rioja. Lastly, he’s got three years of experience in a postdoc at the University College Dublin (UCD).
Luis started working as a computer responsible for a project called Digitum and OCW for two years. Later, he decided to start a business on my own working on online advertising. Basically, he created blogs about different topics such as Joomla and Blogger and monetized them using Google Adsense. After a few years, I decided to move to the academic world. He became a Lecturer at University Panamericana (Mexico) for 3.5 years. He taught about programming in C#. Then, I moved to Dublin, (Ireland) where I worked in CeADAR in different projects related to Machine Learning such as time-series applied to industrial valves, and different demonstrators related to some topics such as reinforcement learning or explainability applied to text mining.
Luis’ research interest was initially focused on the online advertising industry. In particular, how can machine learning be applied to make online publicity more effective. Thereafter, he started publishing on many different topics such as COVID-19, human activity recognition, Predictive Maintenance. All of them from areas related to machine learning perspective such as reinforcement learning, text mining, and also explainable artificial intelligence.
Luis has collaborated on a grant proposal for cybersecurity in Horizon2020 which was not successful. Additionally, he has also recruited a researcher and followed her successful application for a Marie Curie fellowships funded by Enterprise Ireland.
Luis has collaborations with the University of Murcia (Spain) and with the University Panamericana (Mexico). He also has a strong relationship with CeADAR (Ireland) for which he worked for 3.5 years.
